Volunteer Firefighter Opportunities

Support Your Community-Sign Up To Become a Volunteer Firefighter, Med-Tech, or a Turnout Today!

We provide training for those with no experience. Our in-house fire academy will give you the skills, training and confidence to operate on emergency scenes ranging from medical calls, structure fires, hazardous materials incidents, car accidents to wildfires and more. You will complete training and be required to pass the State of Colorado Firefighter 1 test. We also train everyone to a minimum Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) level.

If you already have certifications, we will consider past experience and certifications on a case-by-case basis and have a program where we accept first responders as Laterals which can result in an accelerated onboarding process.

If firefighting does not interest you, our Med-Tech program may be what you are looking for. Med-techs respond to medical calls and provide medical support on fire calls. You can learn more by clicking here.

Responding to nearly 2,500 emergency calls a year, there is ample opportunity to give back to your community and make a difference. EFR provides the necessary training for fire and EMS skills through our in-house academy. If you have firefighting or EMS experience, our Lateral Program may be available to you for an accelerated entry process.

If you are interested in volunteering but not in an emergency response capacity, consider joining the Turnouts Program. This group serves as a support function for Evergreen Fire/Rescue, and there are many ways you can volunteer your time without being a firefighter or medical services provider.
